However, Moore was termed as unqualified for the post by the Democratic Senators and called upon Trump to drop the nomination. He withdrew his name from consideration amid bipartisan resistance in the Senate, on May 2, 2019.

Then later Moore went back to his various work positon with Committee to Unleash Prosperity, FreedomWorks, and The Heritage Foundation. Also, he became the chief economic officer of Frax, a cryptocurrency.
