Rowland also worked as a news cadet at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, he began working here in February 1987 also for five years. He worked covering both New South Wales and Victorian politics at the Canberra Press gallery. Rowland then became an NSW state political reporter in 1988 and got to change tables to a finance reporter in 1991.
