Hillary Floren Career
Since 2002, Hillary has been waking up viewers on the award-winning Good Morning El Paso program. Still, after all these years, she insists that she is not a morning person! She spent three years anchoring the weekend evening news and interviewing before taking over the early morning hours.
She and co-host Mauricio Casillas greet morning audiences with news, weather, traffic, and a smile every weekday from 4:30 to 7 a.m. Hillary worked as a producer at KOAT in Albuquerque and as an anchor and reporter at KRWG, the student-run station at NMSU in Las Cruces, before joining the ABC-7 staff.
“Our morning team is one of a kind. We’re all sleep-deprived, but we’re all working for the same goal: we want to be the station that everybody looks to for the details they need to start their day. And we like to have fun doing it!” She also makes it a point to report good news wherever possible.
Hillary is involved with the neighborhood and always emcees activities, but no matter how significant the gathering, her main audience is still the elementary-aged children, who tend to pose the most insightful questions. She is a former Miss New Mexico Teen USA who often runs pageants and mentors young people.
Hillary, an advocate for youth, won the National Service to America award for making a difference in the world through her weekly series “Education First.” Over the years, Good Morning El Paso has won hundreds of awards, including “Best Newscast” many times.
