Dan Hicks is a popular American journalist and sportscaster. He works as NBC Sports Group’s critically-acclaimed and long-time golf and Olympic commentator currently. Hicks began working at this station in 1992.

In 2014,  he began working at NBC Sports’ Notre Dame Football coverage as its lead play-by-play voice. Hicks has worked for NBC Sports’ PGA TOUR Golf Channel on NBC tournament coverage since 2000 as lead play-by-play host, together with Johnny Miller, a critically-acclaimed analyst in the 18th hole tower in addition.

In 1992, Hicks works as NBC Sports Group’s critically-acclaimed and long-time golf. An Olympic commentator began working at this station. Hicks’s main responsibilities include play-by-play commentary for golf, but he took over as play-by-play commentator for Notre Dame football in 2013.

In 2019, he joined NBC’s coverage of the French Open tennis tournament. Hicks also worked for NBA on NBC and NFL on NBC as a play-by-play man.  And also served for NBC’s golf coverage as a tower announcer in 2000.

He worked for NBC’s sports updates every weekend as the primary anchor and also worked on NBC’s now-defunct annual winter sports special, Ice as a host before. Hicks is an old hand of 11 Olympic broadcasts since the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

He worked for the past six Summer Olympics as a swimming play-by-play commentator. Hicks worked at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea as the alpine skiing play-by-play announcer further.

He worked at CNN in 1989 as a sports anchor prior. In 1984,  Hicks began his professional career at KCEE/KWFM radio in Tucson, Arizona as a sports anchor/news reporter. He worked as a weekend sports anchor/reporter at KVOA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Tucson then.
